Raúl Martínez

Born into a pioneering family in Mexican cinema, he began his career in film production at the age of 17. For more than 30 years he has worked in the production of commercials, music videos, short films, documentaries and feature films.

With studies at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and courses at the University of California at Los Angeles, he focuses mainly on directing and editing commercials.

He has directed commercials for clients such as Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, McDonald’s, The Disney Channel, Samsung Electronics, PepsiCo, Kellogg’s, Subway, TV Azteca, Burger King, Televisa, Liverpool, Seat, Grupo Salinas, among others, with a special focus on directing actors. His work as Advertising Director and Editor has been awarded in festivals such as Círculo de Oro, FIAP, AHAA, among others.

In 2007 he worked as an editor for the film “Bad Habits” by Simon Bross and a few years later, in 2015 he directed the web series “Camino de Estupideces” for YouTube.

The following year he directed his first feature film: “Un padre no tan padre” produced by Panorama Global for Cinépolis Distribución and Pantelion, which was released at the end of that same year. Also in 2016 he directed the episode “El patito feo” of the series “Érase una vez” produced by Chocolate Cine y Video which can be seen in Mexico on Blim.

In 2018 he directed the pilot of the series “Los pecados de Bárbara” for Televisa and the following year he directed the comedy “El mesero” produced by BH5 for Videocine. It premiered in July 2021. Also in 2019, he directed the comedy “Cuando sea joven” (original title: Miss Granny) produced by 3Pas Studios for Pantelion and Videocine distribution.
In 2020, he directed “A Not So Fatherly Christmas” for Panorama Global as a Netflix original movie. Among his latest work, in 2021 he directed a comedy produced by Alameda Films and Blu Films for Videocine distribution in 2022.
From 2019 to date he is part of the Directors Roster of the Backdoor channel produced by Viacom CBS Networks Americas.
