Augusto Mendoza

Augusto Mendoza (Ciudad de México, 1979)

In 1998 he attended the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica where he specialized in writing for the screen. Upon finishing, he wrote nine episodes of the sitcom Familia Peluche with Eugenio Derbez. In 2010 he co-wrote the screenplay for the movie Abel alongside Diego Luna, which won Best Original Screenplay in the Ariel Awards.

In 2012, he wrote the screenplay for the animated movie El Santos vs la Tetona Mendoza, based upon the original characters by Jis and Trino. In 2014, he co-wrote the movie Mr Pig, starring Danny Glover and Maya Rudolph. He wrote 6 episodes for the series El Vato, produced by NBC Universo, from 2015 to 2016. The series won the Emmy Award for Best Non-English Primetime Show. In 2019, he wrote three episodes of the second season of the series “Diablero”.

In 2019 Chicuarotes premieres in the Cannes Film Festival, film wrote by him and directed by Gael Garcia Bernal.
