He studied at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. After graduating, he wrote 9 episodes of the first season of FAMILIA P. LUCHE with Eugenio Derbez. In 2010 he co-wrote the screenplay for the film ABEL with Diego Luna, a project that won the Ariel Award for Best Original Screenplay.

In 2012 he wrote the screenplay for the animated film EL SANTOS VS LA TETONA MENDOZA, based on the characters Jis and Trino. In 2014 he co-wrote with Diego Luna the film MR. PIG, starring Danny Glover and Maya Rudolph. He wrote 6 episodes of the series EL VATO for NBC Universo from 2015 to 2016, winner of the Emmy Award for Best Primetime Non-English Speaking Program. In 2019 he also wrote three episodes of the second season of the Netflix original series DIABLERO.

In the same year, CHICUAROTES, a film written by him and directed by Gael García, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Recently, he wrote TODO VA A ESTAR BIEN and BELASCORÁN for Netflix. He is currently working on the series GRINGO HUNTERS for Netflix and another for the production company Propagate.
