His final work from cinematography school was QUÉ IMPORTA CORAZÓN (2011), this short film was screened at the FICG in Guadalajara and at the Havana Film Festival in 2012.

His feature film ESMERALDA’S TWILIGHT had its world premiere at the FICG in 2018 and this led the movie to be nominated at the Arieles in 2019 (Mexican Cinema Academy Awards), in the category of Best Opera Prima and Best Actress. This film portrays the human nature of the relationship between an elderly woman and her pig. The film won several audience awards too, at festivals such as the Durango Mexican Film Festival and the Mérida Yucatán International Film Festival. And because the movie develops the migration subject,, it has been a film that had a long history in Latin American film festivals such as Chicago, Houston, Paris and Mar del Plata.

Ehécatl has 16 years of experience working as a script supervisor, and this experience has given him the privilege to be seated on the set next to directors such as: Manolo Caro, Rodrigo García, Natalia Beristain, Ernesto Contreras, among others. Giving him the opportunity to have been in the front row learning about how decisions are made within the work of directing.

He has an affinity for moving narrative work, so family stories, dramas for kids and young adults, are a field in which he knows how to harvest emotions. Currently he can be seen typing on his keyboard on which he says he is writing the next movies he would like to see in the cinema.
