Mexican film director best known for directing the awardwinning short and upcoming feature MAR I ANA, which has garnered more than 20 nominations, incluiding Best Indie Short Film at the Cannes World Film Festival and Best Film at the LGBTQ+ Toronto Film Festival 2021. In addition to having the official selection of FICG36 and being part of the Maguey Award. She recently directed the feature film Sisters starring Viginia Novello, Valeria Maldonado and Marta Cross. Novo developed as a Director and Producer at the New York Film Academy, where she completed her BFA in Filmmaking. Mar Novo was part of the development as Executive Producer in charge of the film “God is a Bullet” directed by Nick Cassavetes (The notebook, 2004), starring Jamie Fox, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, January Jones y Maika Monroe produced by Patriot Pictures and Itaca Films. She is currently in post- production on the Yellow series for Star+ starring Tessa Ia, Lizeth Selene and Martin Saracho; and “Ella Camina Sola” for Univision/VIX from the production house The Inmigrant.
