She was born in Costa Rica and studied film in Belgium. His graduation film, “Paul está acá”, won the Cinéfoundation Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017. Her second short “Lucía en el limbo”, had its world premiere at the 58th edition of la Semaine de la Critique and has won several awards, including the main prize at the Guanajuato Film Festival. “ Tengo sueños eléctricos“ is her first feature film as a scriptwriter and director, winning the award for best Latin American film at the San Sebastián Film Festival, considered the quintessential showcase for cinema from the region to Europe, and in Locarno the film was made with the Award for Best Director, for Best Female Performance (Daniela Marín Navarro) and for Best Male Performance (Reinaldo Amién Gutiérrez). Special mention at the RIFF Reykjavik International Film Festival, awarded at the Bogotá International Film Festival, awarded at the Bogotá International Film Festival and special mention also at the Film Fest Gent in Belgium. His first film continues on the festival route.
