Ximena Escalante
She is a renowned Mexican playwright. Her plays invent and recreate classical texts or myths such as Fedra, Electra, Andromache, Salome, Judith, Lilith.
They also deepen in the biographies of writers and their creative processes such as Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Colette, Euripides, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and Frida Kahlo.
These works have been presented in New York, Washington, Ohio, Miami, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, Banff, Paris, Lyon, Caenn, Venice, Rome, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Udine, Athens, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Madrid.
In television she has written: COMO AMA UNA MUJER, EL ENCANTO DEL ÁGUILA, LAS MALCRIADAS and NIÑAS PROMEDIO.
She is currently developing TV projects for Media Pro, Disney, TDO Media, Canal Once, and preparing the staging of the Ecstasy trilogy, where she recreates his fascination with greek myths.
In December 2022, she received the Fine Arts Medal for her career as a playwright and screenwriter.
