Olfa Masmoudi

Graduated in Theater from ENAT, she also studied dramatic arts at Harvard Extension School and at the same time she studied screenwriting at Emerson College in Boston, a profession which today she performs professionally along with acting. She began her acting career in 2004 participating in several novels and plays in France and Mexico. Since then she has worked in more than 15 professional theatrical productions.

In film she began her career in 2006, with the feature film “Así del precipicio”, directed and written by Teresa Suarez. After a few years of work focused solely on theater between NYC, Boston, Mexico and France, in 2015 he returned to television and film in Mexico and Latin America participating in shows such as “Water Crashers”, “Señorita Pólvora”, “Juana Inés”, “Paquita la del Barrio” (series of which he is also a screenwriter), the foreign films “Water Lola” (Spain/Mexico) playing the lead role and the film “Gringo” (USA) alongside Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried, directed by Nash Edgerton.

Since 2015 he has worked as a scriptwriter in several Mexican series produced by Sony, Teleset, Argos and Netflix. Being perfectly polyglot, she has also written screenplays for international projects. In 2016 she began her career as a stage director with her original play of her own authorship “De tanto pensar mi corazón se detuvo” (“From So Much Thinking My Heart Stopped”) which earned her international recognition for best play in development at the international FRINGE festival.

To date she has written several premium series (e.g. “Selena” for Endemol) broadcast throughout the Americas, as well as several TV series for Mexico and the United States/Latin America. She also works in development and scriptwriting for production companies in feature films and TV. Other of her projects as a writer consist of 60-episode teleseries (“Paquita la del barrio”, 2017 international Emmy Nominee ; “Alejandra Guzman”, 2018 ; “Selena”, 2018), as well as the web series “MexCamGirlz” produced by Laredo producción and Televisa.

In 2019 she wrote the series “Manual para Galanes” for Sony and “Promesas de campaña” for Fox Telecolombia.
In 2020 he wrote two feature films: “Blackbird” for Cinépolis and “Blind Date” for Nativo Films.

During 2021 he participated in several writer´s rooms, including the third season of “De brutas nada”, another series for Netflix and is developing an audio-series for Sonoro.
