Lorena Padilla

Lorena Padilla holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, which she pursued as a Fulbright scholar. She writes scripts for TV series and feature films from Mexico, the country she returned to after living in five countries, ten cities, and twenty-three different departments for over ten years. Her most recent works have been in film and series for Fábula, and a drama series for Viacom directed by Julia Solomonoff. Her debut feature MARTÍNEZ which she wrote and directed, participated in Script Station/Berlinale Talents, Torino Film Lab, CineQuaNonLab, and received support from IMCINE, Tribeca Film Institute, Filma Jalisco, and Austin Film Society. MARTINEZ won Hecho en Jalisco Award at the Guadalajara Film Festival and was screened in more than a dozen International Film Festival, such as the San Francisco International Film Festival, Calgary International Film Festival, Festival Internacional de Cine de Santander and Glasgow International Film Festival.

Recently, Lorena directed a series for the production company Gato Grande which will be available on Amazon. Currently she is writing her second feature film.
