Her first film, the documentary “Shakespeare & Victor Hugo´s Intimacies” received more than 30 awards, like San Sebastian, BAFICI, IDFA & La Habana. Her second film “Artificial Paradises” was supported by the Tribeca Film Institute, Hubert Bals Fund, & premiered at Rotterdam in 2010. “Fogo" her third film, was presented at Director ́s Fortnight in Cannes in 2012. In 2015, she premiered “Epitaph” a co-direction with Ruben Imaz. Her fifth film “Tragic Jungle”, was premiered in Venice 2020, a co-production with France and Colombia, supported by the Cinemas du Monde-CNC, L’Atelier Cinefundation from Cannes, and the ARRI Support Program. It was release by Netflix in 190 countries. In 2022 Yulene was part of the international feature film INTERACTIONS “When Cinema looks to Nature” where twelve International Filmmakers create connections between Humans and Animals, the film was produce by Arts For The World and was premiere at the International Film Festival of Rome on October 2022. Yulene was recently chosen to be part of the Adelante Directors Fellowship, a groundbreaking program that supports up-and-coming Latin American film directors to develop a professional career in the USA TV industry. She is now working on the post production of a new documentary called Song that Burns.
